Short film: Budgeting for Change

Planact shares its latest short film, Budgeting for Change.

The film explores real life issues facing people living in squalid conditions on the margins of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. Shot in KwaZenzele Informal Settlement, the film follows Molefe Mkhwebane, who fights to receive basic services in a country that promises the effective and equitable delivery of public services. The community is exploring alternative ways to engage with local municipalities on service delivery concerns.

The film forms part of a broader Planact project to assist the community of KwaZenzele Informal Settlement to use municipal budgeting to improve service delivery. It is supported by the European Union.
