Vacancy: GGLN Co-ordinator
The GGLN co-ordinator will be responsible for undertaking and managing research as well as co-ordinating and supporting the activities of the Good Governance Learning Network (GGLN).This position is based at the Foundation for Contemporary Research (FCR) in Cape Town.
The key responsibilities for the position include:- Design, undertake and co-ordinate research projects and policy position papers
- Facilitate research partnerships with the government, NGOs and the private sector
- Organise seminars and conferences on behalf of the GGLN
- Present GGLN`s research and policy work in appropriate fora
- Draft funding proposals and reports to GGLN donors
- Co-ordinate and support the activities of various national and international network partners
- Manage GGLN`s Southern Africa regional network on local governanceManage the administration of grants to members of the network
- Communicating regularly with GGLN stakeholders
The key requirements for the position include:
- Applied knowledge of local governance and democratic processes
- Thorough knowledge and experience of advocacy and social research methodologies
- Excellent writing skills in English
- University degree or diploma in social sciences
- Excellent presentation skills
- Valid drivers licence
- Good understanding of the NGO sector is an added advantage
