7. HIV/AIDS, local government and human settlements planning
On 18 July 2007, Isandla Institute, in partnership with the Built Environment Support Group (BESG), hosted a learning event for GGLN members on the theme, “HIV/AIDS, Local Government and Human Settlements Planning.”
8. Community experiences of Integrated Development Planning
Planact hosted a GGLN regional learning event on the 11 August 2007 to provide communities with an opportunity to reflect critically on the IDP processes by sharing their experiences and to make recommendations to improve the process.
9. Integrated Development Planning review processes and community engagement
The Democracy Development Programme (DDP), in collaboration with two other GGLN members, the Centre for Public Participation (CPP) and Fairshare, hosted a learning event on the theme of "The IDP Review Process and Community Engagement."
10. Municipal-Community Partnerships
The Foundation for Contemporary Research (FCR) hosted a Municipal-Community Partnership (MCP) seminar on 29 November 2007 in Paarl with the aim to review its work in three areas in promoting Municipal-Community Partnerships (MCPs) for poverty alleviation. The discussions included inter alia, developmental partnerships such as service delivery models in a legal context, community perceptions of municipal service delivery as well as current practices and challenges of two non-governmental organizations (FCR and BESG).
11. Good Governance Surveys
On the 29th of June, Afesis-corplan, in conjunction with the Project for Conflict Resolution and Development (PCRD), will be hosting a GGLN-sponsored regional learning event in East London.
12. HIV/AIDS, Local Government and Human Settlements Planning
On 18 July 2007, Isandla Institute, in partnership with the Built Environment Support Group (BESG), will host a learning event for GGLN members on the theme, “HIV/AIDS, Local Government and Human Settlements Planning.”
